BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom Educational CU, through its Social Responsibility Committee, made $20,248 in donations to 21 local organizations this month.
The grants went to: Whatcom County Association of Fire Chiefs ($2,000), Bellingham Diaper Bank ($1,500) and Interfaith Coalition of Whatcom County ($1,500), among others.
The grants are awarded through the credit union’s Social Responsibility Committee, which supports education, health and community-related projects.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
