Wis. DFI Honors CUs With Financial Literacy Award

Two credit unions were included among the winners of the 2015 Governor's Financial Literacy Awards in Wisconsin.

The awards program, administered by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions honor efforts in promoting financial literacy among Wisconsin citizens.

Credit union recipients for the Literacy Award comprised: Altra Federal Credit Union, a $1.1-billion institution based in Onalaska; and Royal Credit Union, a 1.7-billion institution based in Eau Claire.

The DFI explained that the recipients were selected from 32 nominations submitted to the Governor's Council on Financial Literacy for consideration. Criteria used in the process included innovative implementation, measureable results, collaboration with partners, and whether the effort was focused on needs-based groups.
