WOCCU Activates Two Disaster Relief Funds

The World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. has activated its international disaster relief fund for benefit of two international disasters: the Guatemalan landslide and the Pakistani earthquake. WOCCU said it has received damage reports from Federaci?n Nacional de Cooperativas de Ahorro y Cr?dito (FENACOAC) in Guatamala that western regions of the country, where there are a number of CUs, are suffering greatly, and that more than 1,000 people have been killed. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, where more than two-million people are homeless following an earthquake, WOCCU is also seeking to help the approximately 73 credit unions in that country.
