CUES Updates Merger Guide
MADISON, Wis.-CUES has released an updated "CUES Complete Guide to Mergers-Second Edition."

Conn. League Offers Dues Discount
Meriden, Conn.-The Credit Union League of Connecticut is offering a 5% discount on annual dues to credit unions who commit to affiliating with the league for two years.
CUs do not have to pay the two years' worth of dues up front and can also elect to pay the full price and donate the 5% discount to the league's "Small Credit Union Support Fund." The league said the initiative is a way of rewarding CU's for a multi-year commitment, which allows the league to plan and budget on a longer-term basis, while also creating a voluntary funding mechanism for the small CU program.
DOT FCU To Become Bridgeway FCU
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-The $55-million DOT FCU will change its name to Bridgeway FCU effective Oct. 6. Founded in 1935 to serve the state's Department of Transportation, the CU now has a community charter.
PCAFCU Offers H.E.L.P.-ing Hand
TRUMBULL, Conn.-Personal Care America FCU has introduced a savings program called "H.E.L.P" for Home Energy Liquidity Plan designed to help members save money for winter energy costs. H.E.L.P pays one percentage point above the CU's one-year CD rate and enrollees meet with a CU rep to create a plan for the account, which can be funded and debited (with proof of energy use) on a regular basis.
Reverse Mortgages Featured
BOSTON-With the popularity of reverse mortgages rising, the state's Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs has launched a new website at www.mass.gov/reversemortgage to provide information about the products.
PA. CUs Continue Campaign
HARRISBURG, Penn.-Pennsylvania's credit unions have agreed to underwrite the "iBelong" campaign for two more years. To fund it, CUs of $20 million in assets or will be assessed at a rate of .75 basis points in 2009, down from one basis point in 2008, while CUs with less than $20 million in assets will be assessed at .20 basis points in 2009, down from .25 basis points in 2008, the Pennsylvania CU Association said.
