50th Anniversary Video Earns Award
TEMPE, Ariz.-Dover FCU's 50th Anniversary commemorative video created by LemmonTree Marketing Group has been recognized in the 2009 Videographer Awards of the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals.
The 20-minute historical retrospective earned an Award of Distinction at the 2009 Videographer Awards in the Business Special Events category.
MACU Wins Business Of The Year
SALT LAKE CITY-The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce named Mountain America CU the 2008-09 Business of the Year. The $2.8-billion institution was selected for its staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, creativity as well as its response to adversity and community service. Mountain America CU has been in Vernal since 1996, beginning with a simple double-wide trailer, and now has two branch locations in the area.
CU Consultant Moves To Rooftop To Raise Funds
EDMONDS, Wash.-Carol Schillios, a 20-year consultant to credit unions who was recognized with a 2007 Herb Wegner Award for Individual Achievement, has made her new home a downtown rooftop until she raises $1 million in donations. The funds are to go to the Fabric of Life Foundation, the name of the non-profit Schillios created that is dedicated to assisting poverty-stricken women in developing countries, including through micro-finance and financial literacy. Schillios is living in a tent atop the store that sells fabric and jewelry created by women involved in programs overseas. Schillios, who was raised to the rooftop by the local fire department, is hoping to have 1 million people donate $1 each to further underwrite development projects. A website, upontheroofwithcarol.org has been established to monitor Schillios, who expects to spend several months on the rooftop.
