Two More States Add ELT

SACRAMENTO-Hawaii and Florida have become the latest states to implement electronic lien and title systems (ELT) for processing vehicle title data. That brings to eight the number of states that have agreed to implement ELT for vehicle title data. ELT eliminates the need for paper title document transfers between lien holders and state motor vehicle agencies. Credit unions can transfer information instantly electronically. California was the first state to put the technology in place. In addition to Hawaii and Florida, Washington, Idaho, Virginia, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania also permit ELT.

Two CUs Name New Presidents

MOON TOWNSHIP, Penn.-Two credit unions have named new presidents. Joseph C. Cirelli has been named president of U.S. Airways FCU. Cirelli began at the credit union in 1969, and most recently held the position of executive vice president.

In Val Verde, Calif., meanwhile, the $270-million Vandenberg FCU has named Diana Dykstra as its new CEO. Dykstra has been senior VP with Patelco CU in San Francisco, where she was also CEO of its investment and securities arm, Patelcorp Service Organization, Inc. Dykstra also spent 15 years with The Golden 1 in Sacramento, where she obtained a U.S. patent as the inventor of a 24/7 credit union direct lending program that is now Credit Union Direct Lending, an affiliate of the California league. Dykstra replaces Sallie Stone, who resigned for "personal reasons."

Flood Victims Get Assistance

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J.-Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey is reporting that 18 credit union members victimized by flooding from Hurrican Floyd are being provided with financial assistance. Overall, $56,500 was raised.
