Two More CUs Changing Names
PITTSBURGH-With its expanded FOM, US Airways FCU is changing its name to Clearview FCU. The $618-million was recently approved to convert to a community charter open to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Allegheny County and the nine surrounding counties. It said the name was selected following focus groups of members. Meanwhile, in Killeen Texas, saying the name Hoodview doesn't convey that the credit union also has branches in Killeen, Copperas Cove, Belton and a soon-to-open facility in Temple, Texas, Hoodview FCU is changing its name to Texas Partners FCU effective Oct. 1. "There are many in the community who-because of the name 'Hoodview'-do not realize they can join," said the CU's CEO, Gary Straley.
