NCUA Schedules Workshop...

ALEXANDRIA-NCUA has slated a Small Credit Union Initiative Workshop for New York and the Boston area. A "Working to Create Opportunities for Credit Unions" work shop is scheduled for Nov. 19 at St. Marks United Methodist Church in New York, and on Oct. 29 in Peabody, Mass. At the Marriott. ...But Some Folks Not Invited

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has issued prohibition orders against seven individuals from participating in any manner in the business of federally insured financial institutions. All have consented, without admitting or denying guilt. The seven are: Kenneth Brazeau, former collections manager of Postal & Federal Family CU of Metro Detroit; Christina L. Capone, former teller at Blair County FCU, Altoona, Penn.; Ruth Hundley, former manager of Knoxville Firefighters FCU (Tennessee); Jacquelyn Martinez, former manager of Deluxe Laboratories FCU, Los Angeles; Daisy Ruiz, former operations manager at Harborstone CU, Tacoma, Wash.; Sharon Shivak, former manager of SAMP Scranton FCU, Scranton, Penn.; and Kathy Wynn, former manager of Natural State FCU, Searcy, Ark.

Indiana's DFI Is Reaccredited

INDIANAPOLIS-NASCUS said that the Credit Union Division of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) has earned a five-year re-accreditation by NASCUS. Indiana was first accredited in 1990, and earned five-year re-accreditation in 1995 and 2000. To earn NASCUS accreditation, an agency must meet or exceed a score of 75 percent in each of six areas: department administration and finance; personnel; training; examination; supervision and legislative powers.
