Beal Named NAFCU's Treasurer

ARLINGTON, Va.-NAFCU has voted Brad Beal, president of Nevada FCU, as its new board treasurer. Beal replaces Bill Cheney, who is leaving his job as CEO of Xerox FCU to become president of the California and Nevada Leagues. Beal is NAFCU's Region V director and had been serving as NAFCU secretary. The Board also elected David H. Gilbert, Region II director, as its new secretary. Gilbert is chair of Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU in Aberdeen, Md.

Guretzky To Retire From SAC FCU

OMAHA, Neb.-Jim Guretzky, the well-known CEO of SAC FCU here, said he will retire in January, 2007. Guretzky, who was serving as chairman of NAFCU during the fight for passage of HR 1151, the Credit Union Membership Access Act in 1998, has been with SAC FCU for 24 years, the last 22 as CEO, during which the credit union has grown to $283 million in assets from $48 million.
