Oscar Winner Keynotes CUES
MADISON, Wis.-Tom Wujec, principal consultant at California-based Autodesk Inc., the Oscar-winning industry leader in 3D computer animation technology, will be the keynote speaker for CUES' Annual Convention: Marketing & Technology for Credit Union Directors, June 17-20 at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Wujec will present an opening session, Return on Innovation: Tools to Foster Innovative Practices from a Business Perspective, and a closing session, Visualizing Knowledge.

NAFCU Supports America Saves
WASHINGTON-NAFCU said it is supporting America Saves, a national campaign that encourages consumers to reduce debt and save money.
The Consumer Federation of America, along with its America Saves National Advisory Committee, has designated Feb. 25-March 4, 2007, as America Saves Week.
In other news, NAFCU is accepting entries for its Annual Awards Competition, Marketing Awards and Grassroots Activism Awards. It is open to all natural-person CUs that are NAFCU members.

WesCorp Conducts Firedrill
SAN DIMAS, Calif.-WesCorp said it was able to get 530 people out of the two buildings that make up its headquarters as part of the test of an emergency evacuation within 4:5 minutes. Under the supervision of a three-member crew from the local Los Angeles County Fire Department, the exercise was also structured to add a touch of reality by simulating several unaccounted individuals for those charged with ensuring everyone's safe egress, along with a number of blocked public exits.
"The simulation was intentionally planned to challenge the rote thinking people would normally have in evacuating a building. By testing everyone's response with such obstacles, people become much more alert in evacuation procedures, ultimately contributing to enhanced personal safety during an actual incident," WesCorp said in a statement.
