COSTA MESA, Calif. – An armed robber believed responsible for as many as six area holdups hit a NuVision CU branch here Friday, police said.
The robber is believed to be the so-called “Wrong Way Bandit,” who made for the exit during one heist, then suddenly changed his mind and exited through a door on the opposite end of the back.
In the credit union heist, the suspect reportedly entered the branch, displayed a handgun and threatened a teller with it, and demanded cash. The teller complied, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was last seen running westbound through the parking lot.
