Santa Fe
Santa Fe FCU, in Amarillo, Texas, will be opening a new, 15,000-square-foot branch in August to accommodate its rapidly growing membership.
Alaska USA
Anchorage, Alaska-based Alaska USA FCUs Foundation donated $10,000 to the Childrens Miracle Network to support research and training, equipment purchases, and uncompensated care in CMN hospitals.
Educational Systems
Educational Systems FCU, Greenbelt, Md., supported the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run by sponsoring 70 runners. Separately, the CU received 5 local and nation marketing awards, and an Excellence Award from the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council.
Kellogg
Kellogg Community FCU, Battle Creek, Mich., held a collection to help the Flint community with the ongoing water crisis. The CU purchased and donated 20,000 bottles of water, 20 jugs of hand sanitizer, 130 packages of baby wipes and 50 containers of disinfectant wipes to donate to a Flint elementary school.
Hickam
Hickam FCU, Honolulu, broke ground on its new, 32,000-square-foot, full-service branch and corporate headquarters. The two-story building will sit on the corner of Kuala and Kaakepa Streets in a busy, retail commercial area of Pearl City, and is being constructed by New Ground.
St Cloud
St. Cloud FCU, St. Cloud, Minn., launched a new recognition program known as ChangeMakers: Giving back to those who make a difference. The new partnership with St. Cloud Times Media will highlight people who may get little recognition while doing great things in the community with $500 and recognition in a news story.
Catholic
Catholic FCU, Saginaw, Mich., celebrated Money Smart Week by partnering with area libraries to bring fun financial activities to childrens programs.
Affinity Plus
For two months, 60 employees of Affinity Plus FCU, St. Paul, Minn., attended internal training sessions focused on effective financial education outreach and delivery. The CU also launched the #OnYourPath campaign through sponsorship of bike share program, Nice Ride Minnesota.
PenFed
In Alexandria, Va., the PenFed Foundation donated $100,000 to the Military Officers Association of Americas Military Family Initiative, which will launch a cooperative military financial education effort later this year.
Security Service
Security Service FCU, San Antonio, is helping 21 high school seniors get a head start on their college tuition. The credit union awarded $52,500 in scholarships to outstanding seniors in Texas, Colorado and Utah.
