Pacific Service CU, Concord, Calif., donated $1,500 to Contra Costa Kops for Kids as part of its sponsorship to the Contra Costa Kops for Kids Run.

America First
America First CU, Riverdale, Utah, and United Way of Southern Nevada held a volunteer event at Red Rock Elementary School in Las Vegas. The students third, fourth and fifth graders learned basic financial literacy principles through three mini workshops.
Nusenda
Albuquerque-based Nusenda CU the largest credit union in New Mexico, with more than 160,000 members was named among the Top Work Places in New Mexico by the Albuquerque Journal for valuing its employees and giving them the opportunity to advance.
Silver State Schools
Silver State Schools CU, Las Vegas, partnered with Findlay Chevrolet to award a 2016 Chevrolet Sonic to Clark County School District teacher, Jamie Tadrzynski. Separately, SSSCU awarded seven Southern Nevada high school seniors with $2,000 scholarships, renewable for up to four years for a total of $8,000.
Earthmover
Earthmover CU, Oswego, Ill., awarded four Teen Investment Program college scholarships totaling $4,000 to four local high school students (1st Place: $2,000; 2nd Place: $1,000; 3rd Place: $500; and 4th Place: $500).
American Eagle
American Eagle Financial CU, East Hartford, Conn., awarded grants to selected local high schools after a social media campaign: $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second and $500 for third, with 14 other schools each getting $200.
First Service
In just four hours, Houstons First Service CU helped save 247 trees by shredding and recycling 14.5 tons of paper documents.
Great Lakes
Employees from the Gurnee branch of Great Lakes CU, Bannockburn, Ill., visited a local Einstein Bros. Bagels and performed numerous random acts of kindness, purchasing coffee and bagels for several customers. GLCU employees perform random acts of kindness all year long.
