Georgia United CU, Duluth, Ga., donated 10,000 assorted LEGO toys to Duncan Creek Elementary to support its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program. Separately, the CU's fourth annual CAN HUNGER food drive collected a record number of food donations: 55,580 cans.
Employees and the board of directors of Dannemora FCU, Plattsburgh, N.Y., made contributions totaling $340 to benefit the North Country Honor Flight.
Finger Lakes FCU, Geneva, N.Y., donated $1,500 to the Geneva Reads Book Fest Committee, for its upcoming Book Fest. The CU is the presenting sponsor of the event.
The 2015 evolution Art Show, hosted by evolve FCU, El Paso, Texas, included a silent auction that raised $1,100 for the Lee & Beulah Moor Childrens Home.
Credit union leaders from across the Dakotas convened in Bismarck, N.D., to engage in dialogue with U.S. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) and Debbie Matz, chairman of NCUA.
Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., was recognized at a Pottstown School Board Meeting for providing 10 years of financial support and encouragement to the Pottstown School District Reading Olympics.
With a donation of $50,000, Clackamas FCU, Milwaukie, Ore., became the premier sponsor for the Clackamas Community College fundraising gala, Viva Clackamas. The sponsorship will provide scholarships to 10 students in the 2015-16 school year.
In LaVale, Md., Allegany County Teachers FCU members and employees raised $1,012.11 for the March of Dimes. Each Friday, employees had the option to donate $5 to wear jeans and a campaign t-shirt.
Altura CU, Riverside, Calif., made a $5,000 donation to the Fire & Burn Foundation in nearby Colton, Calif.
Credit Union West, Glendale, Ariz., donated $3,000 to the American Cancer Society.
