MECU Baltimore
MECU of Baltimore is sponsoring the newest Millionaire's Club experience at Green Street Academy charter school in Baltimore City.
Indiana Members
Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, donated $4,050 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana as part of a debit card giveback program.
First Ohio Community
First Ohio Community FCU, North Canton, Ohio, held a cutest pet contest that collected $500 in donations for the Stark County Humane Society.
OnPoint
OnPoint Community CU, Portland, Ore., named Emily Ferguson K8 Educator of the Year and Doug Beardsley 912 Educator of the Year. The top prize pays each teachers mortgage for one school year and awards a $2,500 donation to their schools for resources and supplies.
St Annes
St. Annes CU, Fall River, Mass., sponsored one of the winners of the Massachusetts Credit Unions Student Essay Contest for the fifth year in a row. More than 900 students submitted essays for the contest and only 8 winners were chosen.
United
United FCU, St. Joseph, Mich., renewed its platinum-level sponsorship of GateWay Services Play for GateWay Softball Tournament. UFCU holds the distinction of being the only platinum-level sponsor in the tournaments 30-year history.
Gerber
Gerber FCU, Fremont, Mich., awarded member Barbara Burns (pictured right) a $100 Visa Gift Card following a quarterly drawing of survey participants.
IC
IC FCU, Fitchburg, Mass., awarded $250 to member Erin Shenk, currently a 7th grader at Overlook Middle School, when she was chosen as a finalist in the Annual Student Essay Contest sponsored by the Massachusetts Cooperative CU Association and the Massachusetts CU Share Insurance Corporation.
Advia
In Kalamazoo, Mich., Advia CUs newly formed Advia Foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to 27 graduating high school seniors in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois.
TTCU
TTCU The Credit Union, Tulsa, Okla., announced its $1 million donation to education and launch of a major fundraising initiative to benefit Tulsa area public schools. The campaign will include participation from the business community, the philanthropy community, school districts, communities and individuals.
Community Choice
Community Choice CU, Farmington Hills, Mich., is adding a new branch in Shelby Township to provide greater convenience and access to its 1,300 members who live and work in the area. It will be the 16th location for the credit union, and is scheduled to open this fall.
Diamond
Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., received a Greater Reading Top Businesses Award by the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The CU ranked 18 out of 50 area businesses. The list recognizes both large and small companies that have a positive influence on the future of the Greater Reading area. This is the ninth consecutive year Diamond has made the coveted list.
