TDECU, Lake Jackson, Texas, awarded 26 scholarships totaling $40,500. For 2014 TDECU added a $3,000 citizenship scholarship to honor Marcus Stephenson, its longtime board member and former board chairman (pictured with first recipient Vellanira Macedo). Separately, TDECU hosted its annual Shred Day at two branches, collecting 16,000 lbs. of documents, and it donated $10,000to the City of Freeport, Texas to assist with its museum expansion project.
America's Christian CU, Glendora, Calif., hosted the first "Patriot Week" to celebrate patriots past, present and future.
St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., sponsored students to be entered into the Massachusetts' Credit Union Leagues student essay contest.
A $1,000 Community Outreach grant from St. Mary's Bank, Manchester, N.H., will benefit the Currier Museum Art Center.
Fort Bragg FCU, Fayetteville, N.C., sponsored the second and third-place prizes of a community enhancement campaign for high school seniors in Cumberland County: a $3,000 scholarship (Talour Ford, pictured) and a $2,000 scholarship (Tiana White).
Lacamas Community CU, Camas, Wash., presented $1,500 Joseph J. Boyle Memorial Scholarships to three graduating seniors of Washougal and Camas High Schools.
At a CMN Telethon on WTOC-TV in Savannah, Ga., Georgia Heritage FCU presented a check to The Children's Hospital for $12,000 and the Coastal Empire CU Chapter presented its check for $6,000.
Thousands of American flags waved at an Inland Empire 66ers game, courtesy of Arrowhead CU, San Bernardino, Calif. ACU team members handed out the flags for military appreciation night, while also collecting snacks to be delivered to the Ontario Airport USO.
Dutch Point CU, Wethersfield, Conn., announced the winners of the 2014 Dorothy J. Sullivan Scholarship program. Five recipients each were awarded $1,000.
Three Bensalem HS students spent a day job shadowing the accounting staff at TruMark Financial CU, Trevose, Pa. Students observed staff accountants prepare checks for bill payment, review financial statements and analyze budget forecasts.
For the eighth year, Carolina Trust FCU, Myrtle Beach, S.C., along with Horry Telephone Cooperative Inc. and 104.9 BOB FM, chose two graduating high school seniors to win $1,000 scholarships: Abby Gooding (pictured) and Cailin Woodruff. Separately, the CU's Youth Week winners received water park passes or $100 savings bonds.
Filer CU, Manistee, Mich., presented $12,000 in scholarships: $7,000 for new recipients and $5,000 to previous recipients. Applicants receive $1,000 and may apply for a second $1,000 scholarship.
Beach Municipal FCU, Virginia Beach, Va., said Trudee Wiltshire (above) and Jordan Barnes received this years $2,500 BMFCU Education Scholarships.
San Diego County CU once again was the title sponsor of the annual "Enough is Enough" luncheon for San Diego County Crime Stoppers.

Members 1st FCU, Mechanicsburg, Pa., participated in the 3rd annual Carlisle Construction Downtown Carlisle Mile to help support the Employment Skills Center in Carlisle.
In Michigan City, Ind., Members Advantage CU collected items to send to U.S. troops overseas. Donations were collected for an entire month, including at MACU's free Community Shred Day, which brought in shampoo and conditioner, nonperishable food items and more.
Consumers CU, Kalamazoo, Mich., hosted a formal groundbreaking at its Gaines Township location in Caledonia. The CU's annual Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Program awarded 20 graduating high school seniors scholarships of $1,000, plus an iPad.
