Affinity FCU, Basking Ridge, N.J., sponsored a team to run in the St. Bartholomew Academy 5K Run/Walk to help raise funds for the school. Separately, the CU awarded $2,000 to James Williams as part of the CU's "Something Better" sweepstakes.
Merck Sharp & Dohme FCU, Chalfont, Penn., presented the Hoffman Memorial Awards to five area students. The awards include $5,000 per winner and honor high school seniors who are active in their community.
Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, hosted its 5th Annual Bowl-A-Thon and raised more than $12,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation.
Security Service FCU, San Antonio, teamed up with Recall to host a free shred day. In other news, the CU donated $15,000 to the American Heart Association.
Greensboro Health Care CU, Greensboro, N.C., awarded $1,000 scholarships to three local students.
TopLine FCU, Maple Grove, Minn., is sponsoring the seven-year college prep program, Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP), in partnership with Hennepin Technical College, Fridley Middle School and Robbinsdale Middle School.
Prospera CU, Appleton, Wis., hosted its 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
MidSouth Community FCU, Macon, Ga., made a donation to The Methodist Home. Separately, the CU also sponsored the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Bibb and participated in a lunch and learn for Georgia College employees.
Georgia United CU, Duluth, Ga., collected 31,839 of canned goods during its two-month CAN HUNGER drive to benefit local food banks. In other news, the CU also awarded $1,000 to two members as part of its Refer-a-Friend promotion, and gave out a total of $12,500 in scholarships to 13 local students.
Picatinny FCU, Rockaway Twp., N.J., hosted its Annual Chili Challenge at Picatinny Arsenal and raised nearly $750 for the soldiers and families at the arsenal.
Scott CU, Collinsville, Ill., donated $2,000 to Triad High School to sponsor the school's softball invitational tournament over the next two years. Separately, the CU cut the ribbon on a new branch in Wood River, donated $13,000 to the YMCA of Southwest Illinois, held its 70th annual meeting, donated $1,000 to the Troy Titans Football Club and won four awards for community involvement and financial education in the Illinois CU League's annual awards competition.
POPA FCU, Cerritos, Calif., paid off one lucky member's loan as part of the Patrol & Gear Loan product launch. Separately, the CU also donated $2,255 to the Los Angeles County Sherriff's Youth Foundation and also gave away iPad minis to two members as part of an e-statements promotion.
Heritage Trust FCU, Summerville, S.C., held its 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and raised $13,000 for the American Cancer Society. In other news, the CU raised $10,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and hosted a booth at the Spring Forward Expo.
Del-One FCU, Dover, Del., said Assistant Branch Manager Emery Gholston was given a gift card, a cookie cake and balloons by the CUs business development team to thank him for his help with SEG development.
United Heritage CU, Austin, Texas, hosted a visit from the Hey Cupcake! Truck at its Manchaca branch.
United FCU, St. Joseph, Mich., donated $5,000 to Harbor Habitat for Humanity.
USFCU, Burnsville, Minn., raised $4,411.55 and 868 pounds of food during the 2013 Minnesota FoodShare Campaign in March.
California & Nevada Credit Unions teamed up for their annual wine auction benefiting Children's Miracle Network. This year's event raised $500,000.
The Rockford Chapter of Credit Unions, Rockford, Ill., helped kick off Northern Illinois Money Smart Week, an annual financial literacy outreach effort.
