Founders FCU, Fort Mill, S.C., gave $950 to Judy Thomas, who won the "Payout for Points" reverse drawing promotion.

The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions held its annual bowling tournament and raised more than $10,000 for children's charities.

State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C., has teamed up with the farming community in Ahoskie, N.C., and local schools to launch a community garden project of a 1.5-acre field adjacent to the CU's Ahoskie branch. Separately, SECU won the national first place Louise A. Herring Award for its Estate Planning Essentials program.
St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., held its 77th annual meeting, where board elections were held and scholarships were awarded to 12 local students.
Workers' CU, Fitchburg, Mass., was named Business Partner of the Year by the Shriver Job Corps for the CU's participation in the Shriver work-based learning program. In other news, the CU donated $20,000 to the alternative lending initiatives of the North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation. It also recently held its annual meeting.
Honor CU, Berrien County, Mich., sent members of its staff to read to local students as part of the Reading Day of Action, sponsored by the United Way of Southwest Michigan.
Genisys CU, Auburn Hills, Mich., sponsored the Annual Huron Valley Egg Hunt. Separately, the CU also sponsored the 2013 Excellence In Education program.
Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Car Sales, donated $5,000 to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia through the Credit Unions for Kids program.

E&A CU, Port Huron, Mich., awarded a new laptop computer to Courtney Klaas as part of the CU's Bonus Bills program.
CPCU Credit Union awarded four $1,000 scholarships to area students.
MSUFCU, East Lansing, Mich., donated $1 million to the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University for the MSU Federal Credit Union Artist Studio Series Endowment, which will bring renowned artists to the MSCU campus. In other news, the CU also announced the winners of its Greenlight Business Model competition, with Kymeria Advanced Materials winning the grand prize of $25,000. The CU also was named one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work For by the Michigan Business and Professional Association.
1st Advantage FCU participated in the St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser, with a number of employees agreeing to have their heads shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research. The event raised more than $41,000.
MECU of Baltimore provided $50,000 to fund neighborhood event grants through the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts.
Michigan Business Connection, a member business lending CUSO in Ann Arbor, Mich., helped fund loans for the Dexter Wellness Center, Dexter, Mich., (shown above) and a multi-unit residential and retail property in Auburn Hills, Mich.
Freedom First CU, Roanoke, Va., joined the City of Roanoke and the West End Center for Youth to break ground on the West End revitalization project, which will be anchored by a full-service Freedom First branch to open in early 2014.
