South Bay CU, Redondo Beach, Calif., reported that one of its tellers, Sarah Aguilar, donated her hair to Locks of Love, which provides wigs to children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments and other diseases.

Service First FCU, Sioux Falls, S.D., raised nearly $5,000 for Children's Miracle Network through a variety of events including a bake sale, chili cook-off and a rummage sale. In other news, the CU hosted a member appreciation day.
Peru FCU, Peru, N.Y., made its annual donation to the CVPH Medical Pediatric Unit.
Security Service FCU, San Antonio supported Kingdom for Kids by providing a group of volunteers to help build the new playground at the Winston School. Separately, the CU also collected canned goods for the San Antonio Food Bank and donated $10,000 to the Children's Shelter of San Antonio.
Robins FCU, Warner Robins, Ga., awarded a 60-inch HDTV to one lucky member and Amazon gift cards to other members as part of its International CU Day celebration. In other news, the CU raised more than $23,000 for CUPAC through the Deduct-A-Buck program for its employees, donated $1,000 cash plus $1,000 worth of food to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and pledged more than $38,000 to the United Way of Central Georgia.
NCUA's donation of more than 22,000 pounds of food to the Capital Area Food Bank won the Feds Feed Families award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, donated more than 1 million aluminum tabs from soda cans to Ronald McDonald House and won the 2013 Helping Hands Award from the charity. In other news, the CU also hosted ZooBoo at the Indianapolis Zoo and named Enterprise Car Sales and Ivan Ekhaus Insurance Agency the winners of the 2013 Business Partner Awards.
A number of Savannah, Ga.-based credit unions teamed up to donate $18,000 to Childrens Miracle Network. Georgia Heritage FCU donated $12,000 and Coastal Empire CU Chapter donated $6,000.
Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., donated $7,500 to the Edwardsville Orchestra Boosters as part of its $30,000 commitment over four years. In other news, the CU granted a $5,000 sponsorship to East Alton Wood River High to purchase protective bags for the school's laptop computers and sent 200 members of the 126th Air Refueling Wing of Scott Air Force Base to attend a St. Louis Blues hockey game.
Quincy CU, Quincy, Mass., teamed up with the local public schools and WB Mason to provide 600 students at Clifford Marshall Elementary School with backpacks filled with school supplies.
Patelco CU, Pleasonton, Calif., helped built two playhouses for Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. The playhouses were given to two local military families. The CU also donated more than $13,000 to the organization.

Hanscom FCU, Hanscom AFB, Mass., presented the 2013 Board of Directors Memorial Award to the 66th Air Base Guard's Quality of Life Program. The award includes $1,000 to support the winner's continued efforts.
Garden Savings FCU, Parsippany, N.J., provided four scholarships to participants in the Greater Newark Enterprises Corporation's Urban Entrepreneurs Development Institute.

Central Macomb Community CU, Clinton Township, Mich., donated $3,000 to Vets Returning Home, a non-profit homeless shelter.
Four credit unions in Laramie, Wyo., teamed up to collect coats for needy people as part of their International CU Day celebration. Participating credit unions included ACPE, Laramie Plains, UniWyo and Warren.
