Belco Community CU, Harrisburg, Pa., hostd a Chili Cook- Off and Bake Sale to raise money for the S. June Smith Center in Lancaster.
Clearview FCU, Moon Township, Pa., awarded a $500 gift card to Nathan Freeman as part of the CU's "Hoop Shoot Challenge" at Robert Morris University.
Great Lakes CU, North Chicago, Ill., conducted 56 youth financial education events, organized a child safety fair, conducted a "Stuff the Bus" school supply drive, hosted a "Make A Difference Day" celebrating random acts of kindness, held holiday food and clothing drives and sponsored a variety of other charitable events during 2013.
SMART FCU, Columbus, Ohio, collected coats to benefit The Open Shelter Inc. In other news, the CU also donated 114 pounds of food to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., donated $5,500 to Special Olympics Illinois. Separately, the CU won state-wide awards from the Illinois CU League for its sequestration loan program, as well as its efforts for financial education and community involvement.
