Hawaii Pacific FCU, Honolulu, collected toys, household items and gift cards for the 2012 Laulima Giving Program supporting Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers.
Associated Credit Union, Atlanta, through its foundation, donated hundreds of presents to the Quinn House, Operation HomeFront Georgia and the Norcross Co-op Ministry.
Peru Central School FCU, Peru, N.Y., raised $700 and UFirst FCU, Plattsburgh, N.Y., raised another $500 for the Pediatric Department at CVPH Medical Center.
Bethpage FCU, Bethpage, N.Y., adopted a local child through Operation Jocelyn Spirit, which answers children's letters to Santa. Separately, the CU also participated in the 13th Annual Education & Assistance Corporation Holiday Shopping Spree, the John Theissen Children's Foundation and sponsored the Newsday Holiday Lights Festival.
Northwest FCU, Herndon, Val. Participated in the 67th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade in Manassas, Va. In other news, the Cu supported efforts of Northern Virginia Community College students who put together a special holiday event for local senior citizens.
Michigan CU League, Lansing, Mich., and its member credit unions awarded $1,000 to Renee Elliott and another $1,000 to her chosen charity as part of the "Share the Wealth" sweepstakes run on the league's Credit Union Link Facebook page.
Greater TEXAS FCU, Austin, held visits with Santa at its Airport Boulevard location, which featured a "Write Letters To Santa" station to be added to Macy's Department Stores "A Million Reasons to Believe" campaign, which donated $1 for every letter to Santa to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Separately, the CU donated $1,663.9 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
First Heritage Financial CU, Philadelphia, participated in the Toys for Tots program.
Andrews FCU, Suitland, Md., teamed up with Operation Best Wishes to sponsor free holiday video messages for service members and their families. In other news, the CU participated in the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program.
North Central Area CU, Houghton Lake, Mich., sold paper cookies and gingerbread men to raise money for local food pantries. A total of $5,600 was raised.
KeyPoint CU, Santa Clara, Calif., engaged in a week of outreach activities with "Random Acts of Kindness" throughout its community, including: donating two food platters to the Dublin Senior Center's holiday party, donated three food platters for Low Income Daycare Center in Santa Clara's holiday party, donated four pool cues to the City of Sunnyvale Senior Center's new recreation room, donated personal hygiene items for the homeless shelter at Sunnyvale National Guard Armory, donated personal hygiene products to the Heart of the Valley for Seniors, served lunch and purchased ice cream and cake to celebrate December birthdays at the City of Milpitas Senior Center, donated food to Martha's Kitchen soup kitchen.
Christian Financial CU, Roseville, Mich., donated $1,000 in grocery gifts cards and 10 baskets of food to 15 local church food pantries.
Northern Hills FCU, Sturgis, S.D., made a $3,000 donation to the Feeding South Dakota BackPack Program, $2,000 to the Northern Hills Area CASA Program and $1,000 to Children's Miracle Network as part of the CU's Community Challenge campaign.
Redstone FCU, Huntsville, Ala., gave a Toyota Prius to Londa McCarver as part of the CU's "Go Green" promotion.
