Financial Center FCU, Indianapolis, was named a Best Place to Work in Indiana for a third consecutive year. Financial Center was No. 9 among medium-sized companies, edging up from its 10th place ranking in 2013.
Employees of America First CU, Riverdale, Utah, volunteered during the 23rd annual Weber School District Math & Science Olympiad at Roy High School.
First Choice America CU, Weirton, W.Va., renewed its Silver Sponsorship of $500 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In addition, the largest CU in West Virginia celebrated its 75th anniversary on May 16.
Polish & Slavic FCU, Brooklyn, N.Y., was visited by Zbigniew Bródka, an Olympic gold and bronze medalist from the Sochi Olympic Games. The gold medalist in speed skating (1500 m) met with members at the Linden and Garfield branches.
United FCU, St. Joseph, Mich., donated $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor to help provide a high-speed broadband connection between its Teen Center and Youth Campus. Separately, UFCU won an Excellence Award from the CUNA HR/TD Council in the Strategic Leadership category for its entry entitled "Skill Based Pay Program."
In Rapid City, S.D., employees and members of Black Hills FCU spent two months clearing their shelves and donating storybooks to the Readiatrics book drive. The CU collected 1,633 books and $40 in cash donations.
AOD FCU, Bynum, Ala., awarded $1,000 scholarships to 17 high school seniors.
Michigan Community CU, Jackson, Mich., said Paige Graves is the winner of its Youth Month promotion. Graves won a $500 gas card. All youth members who obtained an auto loan in the promotional time frame were entered to win.
SIU CU, Carbondale, Ill., is donating 75 sugar maple and red bud tree seedlings to Brookport City Hall to assist with rebuilding efforts after the devastation of a large tornado in November 2013.
A team from Altura CU, Riverside, Calif., participated in the Latina Conference of 2014 and the recognition of "Hispanic Lifestyle's" 2014 Latinas of Influence for their contributions in business, community service, entertainment and education. Altura was a sponsor of the day long conference.
UMassFive College FCU, Hadley, Mass., awarded $1,500 scholarships to Tara Murty (pictured) and Justin Guo. The CU serves the University of Massachusetts and the Five College System.
Numerica CU, Spokane, Wash., received the Sweethearts for Kids award at Children's Home Society's annual Sweethearts for Kids Luncheon. Numerica came on as the presenting sponsor of the annual benefit event in 2012.
Vantage CU, Bridgeton, Mo., was named the Community Outreach Volunteer of the Year by the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. For more than 13 years the CU's employees and members have collected new school supplies and backpacks to help ready foster care children for the new school year.

An umbrella with foam raindrops attached to it had its current auto, home equity and other rates. Separately, the CU safely discarded named Jonas Tucker-Alleyne and Megan Hogan as its 2014 Scholarship Winners. Each winner received $1,000.
Suncoast CU, Tampa, Fla., opened its fourth eco-friendly branch in Immokalee, Fla. The branch features LED lighting throughout, high-efficiency windows and insulation, geothermal air conditioning and heating, and 40-kilowatt solar power panels to offset electricity use.
Oregonians CU, Milwaukie, Ore., opened its eighth branch in the historic St. Johns neighborhood of North Portland. Business Development Officer Emily Spall has been named branch manager.

TruMark Financial CU, Trevose, Pa., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its newest branch in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center. The branch, TruMark's 16th in Southeastern Pa., has a new design equipped with teller pods instead of individual teller windows.
Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., participated in Lowell General Hospital's TeamWalk for Cancer Care, which helps the hospital's Cancer Care Center pay for medication, nutritional supplements, nursing visits and other services. Through fundraising efforts and a corporate donation, the CU raised more than $5,000.
Meritrust CU, Wichita, Kan., welcomed nearly 7,000 visitors to Meritrust Earth Day at the Sedgwick County Zoo. Separately, Meritrust raised More than $260,000 in support of Wichita's Tour de Cure, a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association.
