Ent FCU, Colorado Springs, Colo., was honored for its ongoing partnership and two-year extension of its financial commitment to the University of Colorado.
First Community CU, Chesterfield, Mo., opened a new branch directly across from the Galleria Mall. In other news, the CU made a donation to Nurses for Newborns of St. Louis at the end of 2013, which brought the CU's total charitable giving for the year to more than $36,000 to a variety of charities throughout the year.
First Captial FCU, York, Pa., hosted a Valentine's Day networking breakfast in conjunction with the York County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. The breakfast also featured a guided tour of the CU's LEED-certified facility.
Gerber FCU, Fremont, Mich., held a drawing an awarded a $100 iTunes Gift Card to Newaygo Career-Tech Center student Trevor White (shown above) and a $100 Visa gift card to Sandy Tower.
Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., raised more than $5,100 for the American Red Crosss efforts to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Hanscom FCU, Hanscom AFB, is participating in Military Saves Week. In other news, the CU donated 35 blankets to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.
St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., participated in the American Heart Association's "Go Red Day" to raise awareness and funds to help fight heart disease and stroke in women. The CU raised more than $950 for the AHA.
Security Service CU, San Antonio, recognized three area schools for collecting the most food during the Food 4 SA food drive. A total of 51,545 pounds of food was collected for the San Antonio Food Bank. Each school was awarded $250 by the CU.
Greater TEXAS FCU, Austin, won the 2013 Outstanding Community Service Award from the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions.
The Maine CU League announced that its 2013 Campaign for Ending Hunger raised $513,309.19.
The Connecticut Credit Union Charitable Foundation, Meriden, Conn., donated $10,000 to Operation Fuel.
Texas Trust CU, Mansfield, Texas, was recognized for its youth financial literacy program -- specifically its 12-member youth advisory council -- through a special proclamation by Mayor David Cook.
Arizona Central CU, Tucson, Ariz., surprised 200 Quik Mart customers with $20 worth of free gas.
American 1 CU, Jackson, Mich., hosted the Amerikcan 1 Paws & Claws Pet Expo benefiting the Cascades Humane Society.
Service CU, Portsmouth, N.H., cut the ribbon on its new Tilton branch.
SIU CU, Carbondale, Ill., was recognized for its sponsorship of 100 Years of Saluki Basketball. Separately, the CU donated more than $1,600 to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Public Service CU awarded the $10,000 Save To Win Grand Prize to Larry Miller.
MSUFCU, East Lansing, Mich., held a grand opening at its Charlotte branch, which it acquired as part of a perger with Eaton County Educational CU.
Consumers CU, Kalamzaoo, Mich., is building two new branches, one in Gaines Township, Mich., and the other in Cascade, Mich.
Corporate America Family CU, Elgin, Ill., cut the ribbon on a new branch in Chicago.
Security Service FCU, San Antonio, made a grant of $5,000 to the Villa Maria of El Paso. In other news, the CU announced it has acquired 66 acres, where it plans to build a campus to consolidate its back-office operations.
Andrews FCU, Suitland, Md., celebrated the grand opening of its new branch in Brightwood, Md.
Tinker FCU, Oklahoma City, Okla., offered up its Edmond, Okla.-based branch to be a simulated crime scene for criminal justice students at the University of Central Oklahoma. Separately, the CU noted that three staff members have been appointed to serve in leadership roles with other organizations that are working to improve financial literacy. They are: Cody Buchholz, Oklahoma Council on Economic Education board of directors; Giovanni Monterroso, Oklahoma Jump$start Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy; JR Webster, Oklahoma Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, hosted a masquerade ball to benefit the Indiana Members Foundation, which raised more than $27,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation.
St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., participated in the Credit for Life Fair at New Bedford Vocational Technical High School.
Neighbors CU, St. Louis, donated $12,364.82 to Children's Miracle Network.
Merrimack Valley CU, North Andover, Mass., gave away more than $6,000 in free gas to 144 drivers at Haffner's Gas Station.
Greylock FCU, Pittsfield, Mass., raised $129,355 for the United Way.
Cyprus CU, West Jordan, Utah, hosted more than 40 local high school students for a day of job shadowing.
Art: Land of Lincoln CU, Decatur, Ill., donated more than $10,000 to Central Illinois non-profit organizations, including the Bright Start & Kid's Connections programs at Macon Resources, Inc. The funds will be used toward new playground equipment for the youth programs.
