A team of 21 employees and family members from Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., participated in the 5th Annual Laguna de Santa Rosa Re-Leaf Day a local treeplanting effort to help restore the degraded habitat area along Irwin Creek near the Laguna. More than 600 trees and shrubs were planted at the event.
LGE Community CU, Marietta, Ga., has been selected as one of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Top Workplaces for 2014.
Service CU, Portsmouth, N.H., joined the New Hampshire Military Youth and Family Program for Purple Up! Day, recognizing the sacrifices of military children with parents deployed overseas.

Align CU, Lowell, Mass., donated 47 dresses to the 9th Annual Belle of the Ball prom dress drive, which cleans and distributes prom dresses and provides related accessories at no charge to more than 400 high school girls who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend their school's prom.
A Green Team from American Heritage FCU, Philadelphia, hosted its first Adopt-A-Highway event of the year on Earth Day, April 22. Employees cleaned two miles of Route 13 (Frankford Ave.) between Academy and Knights Roads.

United Educators CU, Apple Valley, Minn., and Aquila Elementary School celebrated Financial Literacy Month and the release of "It's Never too Early to Start," a guide that focuses on how parents and teachers can use children's literature to teach financial literacy skills.
Girl Scout Troop 2102 visited Texas Trust CU during financial literacy month. The girls received a tour of the Mansfield branch, which was led by Cash the Eagle. The girls also participated in a savings workshop. Separately, TTCU took home three Diamond awards for outstanding marketing and business development achievements at the annual CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council conference.
The new headquarters of St. Mary's Bank, Manchester, N.H., was honored with the Design Award at the 2014 Manchester Historic Association's Historical Preservation Awards.
Employees of St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., participated in a Boston Strong Casual Day on April 15 to remember the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing and pay tribute to Lt. Walsh and Firefighter Kennedy, who lost their lives fighting a fire in Boston. More than $400 went to The One Fund Boston and a memorial fund for both firefighters. On April 24 it participated in "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day," with 15 children going to work at the CU for the day. Also, The Boys & Girls Club of Fall River's Keystone Club received a $10,000 grant over a two-year period from the CU, the second $10,000 donation St. Anne's has made to the Boys and Girls Club in four years.
The Battle Creek Chapter of Credit Unions, Battle Creek, Mich., donated $3,000 to S.A.F.E Place, which shelters victims of domestic violence and their children. It is one of the busiest shelters in Michigan.
