The Weirton-Wellsburg Chapter of the West Virginia CU League made a donation to the "Multiple Steps for MS Team" for the annual Multiple Sclerosis Walk.
Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., hosted a visit from a delegation of credit union professionals from the Bahamas. In other news, the CU said Elisabeth Mulcahy and Vyrik Eng have been selected as "Rising Stars" by the Massachusetts CU League.
Keys FCU, Key West, Fla., honored the Key West 2013 Military Service Member of the Year, Petty Officer Jeffery Hunter, presenting a Navy sword and scabbard to Hunter and a $250 sponsorship for the Military Service Member of the Year Awards Banquet.
FORUM CU, Indianapolis, was recognized as a "Best Place To Work in Indiana." Separately, it awarded the quarterly $250 price as part of its SaveItUp program.
First Financial FCU, Lutherville, Md., awarded $3,000 scholarships to 49 local students.
Horizons FCU, Binghamton, N.Y., donated $2,000 to the Binghamton Zoo.
Robins FCU, Warner Robins, Ga., said employees volunteered to participate in Rebuilding Together's "Christmas in April," doing heavy yard work and making minor repairs for one local homeowner. In other news, the CU also donated $2,500 to Houston County Council Meals on Wheels, awarded scholarships to five local students and hosted a shred day event.
InTouch CU, Plano, Texas, promoted financial literacy month all last month with a variety of activities at its branches, including a fundraiser for the National CU Foundation and Texas CU Foundation.
Peach State FCU, Lawrenceville, Ga., awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships disbursed among Savannah Bryan, Sheryl Hoilette and Lucinda Scrivener. Additionally, the CU awarded a total of $97,000 in scholarships and educational grants.
Scott CU, Collinsville, Ill., donated $3,000 to Belle-Clair Speedway, pledged $25,000 to help build a new Rotary Playground, gave $1,000 in thank-you gift cards to be given to military families staying at the Fisher House in St. Louis, and donated $2,500 to sponsor the Midwest Salute to the Arts.
Associated CU, Atlanta, hosted its 3rd Annual Car Buying Clinic featuring WSB Radio's auto expert, Adam Goldfein.
State Employees CU, Raleigh, N.C. in tandem with the North Carolina Community College System, announced the creation of the SECU Continuing Education Scholarship program, which will offer 10 $750 scholarships. Separately, the CU also announced it opened its one-millionth checking account, helped more than 77,000 tapayers claim nearly $104 million in refunds through its participation in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and marked National CU Youth Week by opening 612 new youth savings account and helping more than 17,300 youth members deposit $3.15 million in just one week.
Rock Valley CU, Loves Park, Ill., held its 9th Annual Spring Fun & Safety Day that featured pony rides, a petting zoo, games, face painting cookies and more.
Altura is giving away iPad Minis as part of its "Mini Ways to Win" campaign that promotes the CU's checking account products. Separately, the CU awarded $500 to Teresa Flores as part of its "You're Gonna Love This Card" debit card promotion. Altura also set up a fund to help a local family deal with medical expenses for their young daughter, who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash.
Texas Dow Employees CU, Lake Jackson, Texas, gathered 1,000 pounds of supplies to donate to families affected by the explosion in West, Texas. Separately, the CU marked the expansion of its branch located inside the Marathon Oil Tower in Houston.
Commonwealth CU, Frankfort, Ky., teamed up with Shred-It, Frankfort City Police and Franklin County Sherriff Department to host a free shred day.
Syndicated personal finance writer Terry Savage stopped by NAFCU's exhibit during the 11th Annual Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill.

CFCU Community CU, Ithaca, N.Y., participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies walk and raised $3,700 for the charity. Separately, the CU also received the Key Contributor Award from the United Way of Tompkins County.
