eCO Credit Union, Birmingham, Ala., worked with three families — the Dodds, the Morgans and the Voudries — to improve their financial pictures through the eCO Savings Race. The Dodds were selected as the winners and received $10,000. The other participants, along with an improved financial picture, received $2,000. In total, Savings Race participants improved their financial pictures by more than $75,000 bringing the improvement from the past two Savings Races to almost $120,000.

Public Service CU, Romulus, Mich., is posing a challenge to community members this year: save $500,000 in loan interest and help local charities. To help raise awareness of the local charities involved, PSCU hosted an open house event that featured a shredding truck, pets from the Romulus/Brownstown Animal Shelter, fun inflatables, giveaways, games and information on the charities.

TDECU Mortgage-Victoria (Texas) supported its local soccer team, the Victoria Heat Girls U11, with the donation of a 10x10 pop-up tent. In addition, the TDECU branch in Lake Jackson hosted a blood drive in April to benefit the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Twenty-two TDECU employees donated 25 pints of blood.
