University of Kentucky FCU made its annual donation of $15,000 in scholarship money, $5,000 to each of the three main entities it serves: University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The scholarships are awarded by the separate Financial Aid offices to qualified students who need financial assistance.

ConnexCares, Connex CU, North Haven, Conn., donated $880.79 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The funds were raised from the fees collected by Connex's coin-cashing machine. Separately, Connex CU employees donated more than 600 diapers to The Diaper Bank at the ShamRock & Roll 5k in New Haven.

The Minnesota Credit Unions for Kids committee (Mn-CU4Kids) raised $202,291 in 2013 for Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, the Children's Miracle Network-designated hospital in Minnesota. Additionally, MnCU4Kids reached $2.5 million in total funds raised since its inception in 1997.

Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., recently presented a $1,000 check in its continued support of the Troy Titans Football Club, which it has sponsored since 2009. SCU pledged three years of support of the club's effort to purchase new helmets and uniforms. In addition, SCU hosted its 71st annual meeting and celebrated being ranked in the list of Top Workplaces for medium-sized businesses in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 2013.
