Gerber FCU, Fremont, Mich., teamed up with the Fremont Rotary Club and the United Way of the Lakeshore to repair the deck of Robert Cooley, an elderly member of GFCU.
Arrowhead CU, San Bernardino, Calif., sponsored the "ArrowHeart" team to participate in the 6th Annual Believe Walk and donated more than $6,100 for charity.
Tinker FCU, Oklahoma City, Okla., awarded a $2,000 travel vouncher to third-year nursing student Brandi Richmond as part of the CUs "Win Your Break" contest. Separately, the CU also gave away more than $2,000 worth of gas to Gaye Etheridge as part of the CU's "Get Going" promotion. The CU also took first place honors in its asset category in the statewide Dora Maxwell, Louise Herring and Desjardins awards.
Tower FCU, Laurel, Md., held its 7th Annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon and "Casual for Kids Day" fundraiser that brought in $1,265, which the CU matched for a total donation of $2,530 for Johns Hopkins Childrens Hospital. In other news, the CU hosted a health fair for its employees offering health screenings, wellness services, diet and exercise tips and more.
St. Anne's Credit Union, Fall River, Mass., hosted a "Think Pink" contest as part of its participation in Lee National Denim Day, which raises money to fight breast cancer. Separately, the CU raised more than $850 for the Walk to End Alzheimer's and sent volunteers to serve dinner at Sacred Heart parish soup kitchen. The CU also sponsored a team to participate in a bowling fundraiser for United Way of Greater Fall River.
Postal CU, Woodbury Minn., helped pack more than 20,000 meals at the Second Harvest Heartland food bank and also donated $500 to the charity, as well. Separately, the credit union's foundation raised more than $13,500 at its annual golf tournament.
Teachers FCU, Hauppauge, N.Y., opened its 25th branch in Merrick, N.Y.
Georgia Heritage FCU, Savannah, Ga., hosted the 5th Annual Chip in Fore CMN Golf Tournament and raised 12,000 for Childrens Miracle Network.
Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., participated in a variety of volunteer activities during the United Way Day of Caring. Separately, the CU hosted two free shred events and also hosted a blood drive that collected 13 units of blood.
Research 1166 FCU, Paulsboro, N.J., participated in a back-to-school supply drive.
TruMark Financial CU, Trevose, Pa., helped raise more than $40,000 to promote financial literacy at its 3rd Annual Kissa-Pig fundraiser. In other news, the CU raised $975 for Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.
Del-One FCU, Dover, Del., raffled off a prize package for a NASCAR race at Dover International Speedway. In other news, the CU teamed up with Delmarva Broadcasting to sponsor the Changemaker event, helping to raise more than $1,000 for A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children.
MidSouth Community FCU, Macon, Ga., made a donation to the Museum of Arts and Sciences. Separately, the CU also recognized David Israel as 2013 Crawford County Teacher of the Year, made a donation to CASA of Houston County and made a donation to the Exchange Club of Macon.
CorePlus FCU, Norwich, Conn., opened a new branch inside the Putnam Walmart Supercenter, Putnam, Conn. In other news, the CU held its 4th Unsung Heroes Recognition Event in partnership with WINY Radio and raised $3,675 for several local charities.
Elevations CU's Elevations Foundations, Boulder, Colo., raised more than $250,000, then the CU chipped in another $100,000 for a total donation of $350,000 to the United Ways flood relief efforts.
Picatinny FCU, Dover, N.J., held a golf outing fundraiser that brought in nearly $7,500 for the Capt. Sean P. Grimes Foundation.
Suncoast Schools FCU, Tampa, Fla., hosted a six-week financial literacy course for students at Hillsborough Community College.
Workers' CU, Fitchburg, Mass., made a $10,000 donation to the Athol Public Library to help sponsor the librarys expansion plans.
United FCU, St. Joseph, Mich., supported the Northern Nevada Heart Walk & Running Red for Heart 5K with a $1,500 donation.
VyStar CU, Jacksonville, Fla., has established a student-run, in-school branch at Orange Park High School.
