Aggieland CU, College Station, Texas, participated in the Hog Splash MUDD Volleyball Tournament benefiting Hospice Brazos Valley.
GCS CU, Granite City, Ill., donated more than $42,000 to United Way.
South Bay CU, Redondo Beach, Calif., collected and donated school supplies for Madison Elementary School and Walteria Elementary School. In other news, the CU participated in Coastal Cleanup Day.
Alliance CU, Fenton, Mo., donated school supplies to Eugene Field Elementary School.
Rock Valley CU, Loves Park, Ill., purchased 27 backpacks to donate to HOPE Domestic Violence Shelter.
NuMark CU, Joliet, Ill., participated in the Miracle Jeans Day Fundraiser to raise money for the Lurie Children's Hospital.
America's Christian CU, Glendora, Calif., participated in the annual Miracle Jeans Day fundraiser and raised $7,673 for Children's Miracle Network. Separately, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption named the CU to its 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces for 2013.
Town & Country CU, Minot, N.D., participated in the Minot River Valley Cleanup.
The CU League of Connecticut held a charity golf tournament to raise money for its Financial Reality Fair Foundation. Separately, the league teamed up with Discount Power to launch Generate Hope, in which the firm will donate a dollar a month for each of its customers to the charity of the customer's choice. The league also reported it donated $500 to FISH of Torrington and Friendly Hands Food Bank.
LBS Financial CU, Long Beach, Calif., collected school supplies for the ABC Unified School District, Bellflower Unified School District and Long Beach Unified School District.
CU ONE, Ferndale, Mich., partnered with the Clark Park Coalition to conduct financial literacy workshops for local students. In other news, the CU also awarded an all-expenses-paid trp to Mackinac Island to Stacy Davis and Janna Smith, as well $100 and $75 gift cards to a number of runners up in its Pin to Win Contest; offered assistance to LA SED Summer Camp and supported the Step Out: Walk To Stop Diabetes. The credit union also celebrated its 75th anniversary.
NuVision FCU, Huntington Beach, Calif., reached its goal of depositing 12,000 checks electronically this year, resulting in the CU donating 12 iPad minis to local children's hospitals, as the CU had pledged to donate one table for every 1,000 checks deposited remotely by members using the CU's MyDeposit feature.
Hudson River Community CU, Corinth, N.Y., won the Merchant of the Year Award from the Corinth Merchants' Association.
Sioux Valley Community CU gave out $50 gift cards to several lucky members at the CU's 2nd Annual Member Appreciation Day.
DATCU CU, Denton, Texas, has won the statewide Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility.
Georgia United CU, Athens, Ga., donated $2,000 to Lambert High School as part of the CU's "Kicks for Schools" football promotion. Separately, the CU awarded a $2,500 scholarship to Angelina Faria.
Signal Financial FCU, Kensington, Md., hosted "Dollar Dog Day" as part of the CU's back-to-school promotional efforts to reach out to young members.
Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., said two members of its staffVP-Financial Education Anne-Marie Bisson and AVP-Brach Operations Mariann O'Brienwere named 2013 Credit Union Heroes by Banker & Tradesman.
VyStar CU, Jacksonville, Fla., opened its sixth in-school branch at Orange Park High School.
Belco Community CU, Harrisburg, Pa., sent volunteers to participate in the United Way Day of Caring, helping out with landscaping, cleaning and assembling disaster relief kits at Mission Central, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
