Meritrust CU, Wichita, Kan., this summer celebrated 10 years of its free Financial Bootcamps. Five financial literacy camps were hosted in its Kansas markets: two in Wichita, two in Lawrence and one in Junction City.
Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., awarded Alfred A. Panfile Memorial Scholarships to four local students who exemplified Alfred A. Panfile's commitment to volunteering in the community.
Gerber FCU, Fremont, Mich., conducted its annual Facebook friend drawing. The CU awarded a $50 Visa Gift Card to member and Facebook friend Zachary Delong. Also, Katie Quillan won a $100 Visa Gift Card following a quarterly drawing of online survey participants.
TruStone Financial FCU, Plymouth, Minn., donated $500 to the Kenosha Professional Police Association. The donation will go directly to the Shop with a Cop fund, providing kids in need with a holiday shopping spree.
BMI FCU, Dublin, Ohio, hosted its inaugural Scholarship Golf Open benefiting Fallen 15, which provides support to the families of our fallen heroes as well as the entire central Ohio veteran community. The event raised $30,000 for scholarships for veterans and their families.
Georgia United CU, Duluth, Ga., donated a $5,000 makeover grant to Whit Davis Elementary in Clarke County toward school improvements.
Heritage Trust FCU, Summerville, S.C., was honored for its donation of $1,250 in support of the American Red Cross Heroes for Fire Victims campaign. The donation provided assistance to a North Charleston family of three after a fire spread quickly through their home.
The Spring Township Parks and Recreation Department honored Discovery FCU, Wyomissing, Pa., for its annual sponsorship of the Tot Lot and Playground Program with thank you cards created by the children in the program.
Eagle Community CU, Lake Forest, Calif., awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to three Orange County students.
Quorum FCU, Purchase, N.Y., was named one of the Best Companies to Work For in New York for the fifth year in a row. This year, the CU ranked No. 13 among the top 32 small- and medium-sized employers in the state.
Kellogg Community FCU, Battle Creek, Mich., gave $1,000 college scholarships to five graduating high school seniors, including Jeremy Perkins. The KCFCU College Scholarship goes toward tuition and admission fees to any accredited Michigan college or university.
Employees and members of United Heritage CU, Austin, Texas, collected 1,560 school supplies valued at more than $1,780 to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas and PATH (People Attempting to Help) of Smith County.
TBA CU, Traverse City, Mich., celebrated the completion of its new regional headquarters on Hope and East Front Street with a ribbon cutting.
Texas Trust CU, Mansfield, Texas, donated $10,000 to the Grand Prairie Independent School District's Education Foundation.
Pleasanton, Calif.-based Patelco CU and the Elder Financial Protection Network partnered to host a free symposium designed to address current financial scams and fraud attempts targeted at elders in the San Mateo, Calif., area.
Riverdale, Utah-based America First CU hosted a grand opening celebration at its newest location in Las Vegas, its fifth branch opening in 2014. It is the 12th location servicing southern Nevada and the 108th branch for the CU.
The Associated CU Foundation, Norcross, Ga., made a $30,000 donation to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights located in Atlanta.
Officials from VyStar CU, Jacksonville, Fla., cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of its new full-service branch in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Indiana Members CU hosted its 6th Annual Golf Outing in Indianapolis. Some 138 golfers attended the sold out event that raised more than $28,000 to benefit the Indiana Members Foundation, whose mission is to support children in the Indianapolis and surrounding communities.
Employees of Michigan State University FCU, East Lansing, Mich., raised more than $44,000 for Haven House, a local homeless shelter. Separately, a team of 75 representing MSUFCU participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes raised more than $5,000. MSUFCU also served as a corporate sponsor for the event.
Andrews FCU, Suitland, Md., joined several local businesses for Prince George's County District 9 Council Member Mel Franklins Family and Friends Day at Showplace Arena.
San Diego County CU sponsored several events in August, including the 25th Annual Clairemont Family Day (pictured), the 30th Annual Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club Contest and Beach Festival, the 18th Annual Lemon Festival in Chula Vista, and the 9th Annual Dog Days of Summer in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. SDCCU also set a new Guinness World Record at its Super Shred Event, shredding 422,350 pounds of paper.

Consumers CU, Waukegan, Ill., wrapped up an active summer of community involvement by presenting a check for $6,002.98 to the American Cancer Society. The CU's walking team raised funds for the American Cancer Society's Waukegan Relay for Life event.
State Employees' CU, Raleigh, N.C., earned top awards at this year's National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) Conference for its financial literacy programs in local schools and communities.
Saginaw Medical FCU, Saginaw, Mich., celebrated the completion of its 6,500-square-foot addition and renovations with vendors, township officials, board members and employees.
Several dozen needy children are heading back to school with new backpacks filled with school supplies thanks to the generosity of the employees and members of Altura CU, Riverside, Calif.
In Marlborough, Mass., team members from Digital CU's Information Center participated in a Charity Bike Build. Armed with wrenches and enthusiasm, team members constructed eight children's bikes, which were donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest.
