A volunteer team from Hanscom FCU, Hanscom AFB, Mass., visited Fisher House Boston to prepare a meal for guests. Fisher House Boston provides housing at no charge to family members caring for hospitalized veterans. Hanscom FCU and the Armed Forces Financial Network partnered to provide $1,000 in Thank You Cards for families of hospitalized U.S. veterans.

The highest-profile athletic venue in Kosciusko County is taking on a new name. The Warsaw High gymnasium has been renamed the Tiger Den TCU Court thanks to a 10-year naming rights agreement between Warsaw Community Schools and South Bend, Ind.-based Teachers CU.

Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, hosted its eighth annual charity fundraising event, “A Tailgate Extravaganza.” More than 200 people attended the event, which raised more than $24,000 for the Indiana Members Foundation.

United Financial CU, Saginaw, Mich., opened its new office in Chesaning, Mich., on Brady Road, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The one-level, 2,000-square-foot building replaced the office located on North Third Street.

Holy Rosary CU, Rochester, N.H., held its 55th annual meeting. More than 100 HRCU members and guests enjoyed dinner followed by an evening of informative speeches and the presentation of awards. Among those honored was HRCU Founder Robert Chasse (middle).

A dedication and opening celebration was held for the SECU Training and Conference Center at the N.C. Rural Center in Raleigh. Members of State Employees’ CU, Raleigh, N.C., provided a $236,000 SECU Foundation grant to Rural Economic Development Center. Separately, SECU hosted 70 eighth graders for Students@Work events.

Branches and offices across the country of Virginia Beach, Va.-based Chartway FCU raised more than $28,000 for children battling life-threatening illnesses through its St. Patrick’s Day-themed Pot of Gold Coin Collection and Sip or Sizzle Vacation Raffle.

Adopt-A-Beach

LBS Financial CU, Long Beach, Calif., rallied more than 50 volunteers for its Adopt-a-Beach event. A dozen employees of LBS Financial made a commitment to come to Junipero Beach on a Saturday morning to clean the sand and parking lot, and those employees brought more than three dozen friends and family members to help.
