CUs Descend On Capitol Hill

The Member Benefits Awards recognize credit unions that provide members with the "best bang for their buck." Winners in the $75 million to $250 million asset category were Boston Firefighters CU, Dorchester, Mass; St. Louis CU Community CU and Community Financial CU, Broomfield, Colo.
Winners of the Member Benefits Awards were determined via rate survey of those credit unions registered to attend GAC. CUNA also factored in credit unions' call report data on amounts of loans and deposits and compared that data to banks to calculate how much money members were saved by doing business with their credit union instead of a bank. Winners with assets more than $250 million were Melrose CU, Briarwood, N.Y.; Southwest Airlines FCU, Dallas and Alliant CU, Chicago.
