Feed Your Neighbor food drive

Vermont FCU, Burlington, Vt., was the presenting sponsor of the Feed Your Neighbor Food Drive to benefit the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. Vermont Federal joined radio stations 99.9 The Buzz and 106.7 WIZN at Costco in Colchester, gathering 4,096 lbs. of food and $736.60 in cash.

Shepherd's Pantry donation

Employees of Christian Community CU, San Dimas, Calif., held a food drive to benefit Shepherd’s Pantry in nearby Glendora. At the end of the drive, employees brought Shepherd’s Pantry 12 boxes filled with non-perishable food, as well as items of clothing.

'Launch' a new business

Vantage CU, Bridgeton, Mo., honored its Ready to Launch Entrepreneurial Winner, Lorenzo Parks, with a party in his honor. Parks received a $1,000 cash prize and a business prize pack from Vantage CU, along with more than 5 hours of mentorship from local partners, co-working space, and a membership to local Chambers of Commerce.

A 21st century library

Northeast Community CU, Elizabethton, Tenn., awarded its latest $300 Helping Teachers Teach grant to Happy Valley Middle School. The funds will help update the HVMS library to a 21st century library.

Meeting the needs of the needy

Andrews FCU, Suitland, Md., held a food drive to benefit several local charities. The CU’s stateside and overseas branches received donations of non-perishable foods to help families in need during the holiday season. Nearly 1,000 items were collected.

San Diego superheroes

Employees of Pacific Marine CU, Oceanside, Calif., utilized their all-staff day to become super heroes in the community, garnering $22,500 and 125 toys for Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, and assembling prosthetic hands for landmine victims in war-torn countries.
