For Kids' Sake: Credit Unions in the Community

Diamond
Two teams of employees from Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., participated in the annual Bowl for Kids' Sake at Berks Lanes. The event benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County.
South Jersey
South Jersey FCU, Deptford, N.J., presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to representatives from the Gloucester County Parks and Recreation Department for sponsorship of the Childrens Summer Rec Program.
GCS
Employees of GCS Credit Union, Granite City, Ill., joined together to raise $1,075 to benefit Call For Help, Inc., at the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
America First
America First CU, Riverdale, Utah, held its High School Scholarship Prep Showdown to honor students for academic and student athlete achievements. The second annual event recognized 22 students. Each was presented with a $500 check and honorary plaque.
Royal
In Eau Claire, Wis., Royal CU's Foundation donated $250,000 in support of the new Discovery Center in Osceola, Wis. In recognition of the cornerstone level gift, the Discovery Center will be home to the Royal Credit Union Business and Video Teleconference Center.
CoastHills
CoastHills CU, Lompoc, Calif., launched a new program called "I'm All In." It is funded by voluntary employee donations, which are pooled each quarter by the CoastHills Community Foundation. Fairlawn Elementary in Santa Maria was the first beneficiary of $1,000.
University & Community
University & Community FCU, Stillwater, Okla., donated $1,679.50, a portion of its ATM fee income over 12 months, to the Stillwater Area United Way.
Goldenwest
Goldenwest CU, Ogden, Utah, received the Partners in Education Award from the Weber School District for its ongoing support of public education through the CU's Annual 5K for Schools fundraising event.
BMI
BMI FCU, Dublin, Ohio, was recognized as the Ohio CU League's first place recipient of the Marketing Brilliance Award for its Dare to Compare auto refinance campaign.
