Dover Federal's new digs

Dover FCU, Dover, Del., was first chartered in 1958 by a handful of Air Force and civilian workers at Dover Air Force Base. Since 1958, Dover Federal has had a presence on the base, and has added to its legacy there by breaking ground on a new, 2,400-square-foot branch.

Making miracles happen

During the 2016 Shop for Miracles Campaign, staff and members of New England FCU, Williston, Vt., contributed $7,153.75 to benefit the University of Vermont Medical Center Children’s Hospital.

Teniqua Reddy, a junior at Richland Northeast High School, designed a new debit card for SAFE FCU, Sumter, S.C. The card design shows a view of the school, the school’s Cavaliers logo and the SAFE logo.

New branch with all the latest

Santa Rosa, Calif.-based Redwood CU opened a new, full-service branch in Mill Valley, Calif., in the Alto Plaza Shopping Center. The new location is designed to better accommodate RCU’s growing membership in Marin County. It features three 24-hour access ATMs, a technology bar for members to access online banking and information, and a children’s activity area.

Big winners and big donors

Linda Sunderland, a member of Jeanne D’Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., won a $1,000 prize from the CU and designated non-profit House of Hope to receive a $1,000 donation. Sunderland received a priceless gift: a room in House of Hope’s newest location named after her late mother.

Corner@Drake

Kellogg Community CU, Battle Creek, Mich., opened a new branch on South Drake Road in Kalamazoo, in the Corner@Drake development, near Costco and Field & Stream. Separately, KCCU’s annual coat drive collected a total of 232 new and gently used coats, along with an assortment of hats, scarves and mittens, for local families in need.

AJ's Kids Crane sponsorship

Pacific Marine CU, Oceanside, Calif., once again sponsored AJ’s Kids Crane. PMCU donated $22,500 to purchase toys for the children at Rady Children’s Hospital. This amount was a new record for PMCU and was the largest monetary donation ever presented to AJ’s Kids Crane.

Half-dozen nonprofit donations

Holy Rosary CU, Rochester, N.H., made donations to six local non-profits: Seeds of Faith, Triangle Club, Interfaith Food Pantry, St. Elizabeth Seton School, and both the Somersworth and Rochester SHARE Funds.

Big savers

360 FCU, Windsor Locks, Conn., exceeded its goal and completed the Community Savings Challenge: saving members $443,275 in loan interest in just two months by refinancing loans from other financial institutions. The CU donated $6,000 to three local charities once the $350,000 goal had been reached.

Innovative office space

Bethpage FCU, Bethpage, N.Y., leased 23,000 square feet of office space featuring an open, community-driven floor plan, fewer desks, integrated work stations and meeting rooms, and a tranquil wellness room, all guided by shifting work styles, mobile technology and the growing presence of millennials.
