More Accolades and Honors

The Glendora Unified School District, Glendora, Calif., recognized America's Christian CU President and CEO Mendell Thompson for his efforts on behalf of students and staff at area schools. This recognition came on the heels of Thomson winning the Angel in Adoption award by the U.S. Congress for his work facilitating the adoption process for children.
Kellogg Community FCU, Battle Creek, Mich., reported that Chief Human Resource Officer Wendy Ballast was name a finalist in the Top 10 HR Professionals by the Michigan Council of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., recently elected two new directors to its board: Mark Dionne and Joanne Yestramski. Dionee has been a tax partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers since 1991. Yestramski is vice chancellor for finance and operations at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
The York Chapter of Credit Unions, York, Pa., selected Rebecca Grosh of First Capital FCU, to be its 2015 Youth Ambassador. The honor comes with a $500 check and the opportunity to compete in the 39th Youth Ambassador of Pennsylvania Contest in May. Cabrillo CU, San Diego, hired Julie Glance as its new chief financial officer. Glance previously worked for NCUA and has served on the executive teams of several local banks and credit unions. Glance succeeds Joel Hudson, who retired as CFO at the $220 million CU last month.
