Alaska USA FCU, Anchorage, Alaska, honored more than 40 members of Alaska's armed forces, including 12 recipients of the Service Person of the Year award, at the 20th annual Military Appreciation Breakfast.
Hanscom AFB, Mass.-based Hanscom FCU's staff, family and members paid their first quarterly visit to Fisher House Boston, preparing a meal for families of veterans. The CU also supported the graduation celebration of the years first Airman Leadership School class, and sponsored the awards ceremony for Hanscom Air Force Base's 66th Air Base Group.
Army Aviation Center FCU, Daleville, Ala., raised $2,400 in two days for Childrens Miracle Network and Childrens of Alabama.
Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., donated $1,500 to support Arena Union Elementary School's Kudos After School Program in the coastal community of Point Arena, Calif.
Del Norte CU, Santa Fe, N.M., has forged a relationship with The Poeh Cultural Center and Museum, including a scholarship fund and showcasing Poeh Center art on debit cards.
Charter Oak FCU, Waterford, Conn., provided a multimillion-dollar financing package for the new Bayside commercial-and-residential rental complex under construction in downtown Niantic. The CU also was named the No. 1 mortgage lender in eastern Connecticut.
Pelican State CU, Baton Rouge, La., celebrated the relocation of its branch in Pineville, La.
Staff from Great Lakes CU, Bannockburn, Ill., educated 3,704 students on various aspects of personal finance.
Kentucky Employees CU, Frankfort, Ky., presented a $10,000 check to the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation as the title sponsor of the inaugural Kentucky History Half Marathon, coming this October.
Insight CU, Orlando, Fla., was named the preferred credit union for Lake-Sumter State College. The CU will provide $50,000 annually over the next eight years to the LSSC Foundation, and there will be co-branded debit cards.
