Golden Glow golf

Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., held the second annual Glow Golf Fundraiser at Golden Oaks Golf Club, in Fleetwood, Pa. The course was lined with colorful lights and golfers were supplied with special golf balls that would glow on impact. More than 60 golfers raised more than $5,500 for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Donations for dogs (and cats)

Vermont FCU, Burlington, Vt., held a month-long pet supply drive in its South Burlington, Burlington and Milton branches. Members dropped off numerous items, including pet food, toys, bones and more, which were donated to the Humane Society of Chittenden County, along with $500 from Vermont FCU.

Pelican State CU, Baton Rouge, La., hosted a free financial literacy workshop for the Alexandria and Pineville communities at the Westside Regional Library. It hosted a second workshop for the Jackson and Zachary communities at the Zachary Branch Main Library.

In Middletown, Pa., Vizo Corporate CU (formerly Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU and First Carolina Corporate CU) and 11 member credit unions raised $210,320 for Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, a Children's Miracle Network hospital.

Box Tops winner

TBA Credit Union, Traverse City, Mich., said the winner of the 2016 Box Tops Challenge was Grand Traverse Academy. Box Tops valued at $175 were presented to GTA after a very competitive photo contest on the CU’s Facebook page.

Merrimack Valley CU surprised patrons of Linda’s Breakfast Place in Seabrook, N.H., with a free breakfast. Every patron that visited the restaurant had their tab covered by the Lawrence, Mass.-based credit union.

Staff from Taunton FCU, Taunton, Mass., volunteered their time to assist Trucchi's Supermarkets with the "Stuff the Bus" event in New Bedford and "Stuff the Truck" event in Middleboro. Volunteers from TFCU and other local organizations collected donations of food, money and gift cards.
