Students Save $50K: In the Community

TBA CU, Traverse City, Mich., said student depositors in its Student-Run Credit Union program have saved more than $50,000 as the program enters its fifth year.
St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., took part in the Massachusetts CU League's 4th Annual Blanket Drive, donating 50 blankets to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, the League's partner for the drive. The CU's employees collected more than 1,000 cans of soup to be donated to the United Way of New Bedford, and participated in their first Credit for Life Fair of the school year at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.
TopLine FCU, Maple Grove, Minn., teamed up with YouthCARE (Youth for Cultural Appreciation and Racial Equality) of Minneapolis and St. Paul to provide a financial literacy workshop for 21 youths.
In Baltimore, Securityplus CEO Brett Noll and several members of the CU's management team attended the Social Security Administration's 30th Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Observance. The CU donated $700 to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary/Middle School.
Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., donated three iPad Air tablets for use by Lowell HS students participating in the University of Massachusetts Lowell's M2D2 "Early Pathways" program.
First Financial CU, West Covina, Calif., celebrated its employees and 2014 results at a special event at the House of Blues in Anaheim, Calif.
Royal CU, Eau Claire, Wis., awarded a $550,000 grant to YMCA Camp St. Croix to build a new program center, which will be named in honor of RCU.
Representatives from Quincy CU, Quincy, Mass., visited WCVB's Channel 5 at Quincy College to donate mittens, hats and scarves for children.
Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., presented a $2,000 check to the Memorial Foundation in Belleville to be the official partner of activities during Memorial's "Memorial Motivation: The key to your heart health" for National Heart Month.
Robins FCU, Warner Robins, Ga., made a $1,000 contribution to the Muscular Dystrophy Associations Muscle Walk.
