Members of State Employees' CU, Raleigh, N.C., renewed the SECU Foundation's "People Helping People" high school and community college scholarship programs. Both programs represent the allocation of over $4 million in scholarships annually.
Jeanne D'Arc
Employees, business partners, members and supporters of Jeanne D'Arc CU, Lowell, Mass., attended the CU's annual We Share A Common Thread Foundation Fundraiser at Lenzi's, raising more than $43,000 to support the Foundation's mission.
NuVision
NuVision FCU, Huntington Beach, Calif., supported the 2015-2016 Orange County Academic Decathlon, taking place at Tustin and Westminster High Schools. Some 450 students from 43 Orange County high schools participated in this rigorous academic competition.
Lake Trust
With a highly "un-bank" design that was heavily influenced by a series of employee collaboration workshops, The Christman Company and SmithGroupJJR completed a new, $26 million headquarters building for Lake Trust CU, Brighton, Mich.
Langley
Langley FCU, Newport News, Va., donated $30,000 to local organizations that focus on domestic violence and the homeless on the Virginia Peninsula.
MECU
MECU of Baltimore is sponsoring the newest Millionaire's Club at Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore City.
Greater Nevada
In Carson City, Nev., the Carson High School Blue Thunder Marching Band was presented with a check for $3,106 from Greater Nevada CU during Band-O-Rama.
Scott
Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., donated $20,000 to the American Cancer Society. The CU will continue as a regional sponsor of Relay For Life events and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The CU also donated $2,000 to the Memorial Foundation in Belleville to be the official partner of activities during Memorial's celebration of National Heart Month.
SIU
SIU CU, Carbondale, Ill., was the first place winner for Best Credit Union by The Southern Illinoisan in the newspaper's Readers' Choice Best of 2015 Awards. This is the third year in a row SIU CU has won the award.
Michigan Community
Michigan Community CU, Jackson, Mich., is celebrating its 80th anniversary throughout 2016. Prize Patrol Days will happen once a month at alternating branches. During Prize Patrol Days, 80 scratch-off tickets will be given to members, with prizes ranging from mugs to $500.
Land of Lincoln
Land of Lincoln CU, Decatur, Ill., donated $1,000 to the Golden Circle Nutrition Program of CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation in Effingham to help meet the goal of delivering meals to homebound elderly clients 5 days a week.
