People's CU, Middletown, R.I., hosted a free community shred day at its Wakefield branch. Separately, the CU donated nearly $300 to Habitat for Humanity from its employee dress down day, Casual for a Cause.

Redwood CU is installing a 2,036-panel rooftop solar array at its administrative offices in Santa Rosa, Calif. The system is expected to provide 60% of the facility's annual power requirements.
Franklin Mint FCU, Broomall, Pa., welcomed a $500,000 donation to its educational foundation from the Henderson Foundation.
Service One CU, Bowling Green, Ky., hosted a community shred day. Donations were accepted to benefit The Center for Courageous Kids, raising $829.
Numerica CU, Spokane Valley, Wash., planted a Ginkgo Biloba tree at Tedford Park.
R.I.A. FCU, Rock Island, Ill., donated more than 1,500 items of food to local shelters and sent 11 boxes of goodies to troops overseas.
Insight CU, Orlando, Fla., awarded a $200 VISA gift card to Kathy Werner, a member for nine years.
