Regulators closed three banks Friday, including the largest bank subsidiary of bankrupt Advanta Corp., to bring the year's failure toll to 33.

The Bancorp Inc. of Wilmington, Del., said last week it has repaid the $45.2 million it received through the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

A group of Tribune Co. creditors sued the banks behind the publisher's 2007 leveraged buyout, claiming the $8 billion in loans they arranged for the deal doomed the company to bankruptcy.

The $11 billion-asset company reported a net loss available to shareholders of $15.7 million, compared with a $69.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2008.
