Actimize Buying Fortent for $73.5M

Actimize, a New York unit of Nice Systems Ltd. of Israel, announced that it has agreed to buy the financial security company Fortent Inc. of New York.

Actimize said it would pay $73.5 million to buy Fortent, a provider of anti-money-laundering and financial crime prevention technology. Actimize, of New York, said it would gradually merge Fortent's AML business with its own.

Actimize said that there is little overlap in the companies' customer bases, and that Fortent serves half of the world's 30 largest financial companies.

The companies expect the deal to close in the first quarter of 2010. It was announced Monday.
