American Century Investments, a Kansas City, Mo., asset management company, has opened a sales office in London.
Through the office, which opened Monday, American Century plans to distribute its products — specifically global growth, emerging markets, and U.S. growth equities — to institutions and financial intermediaries.
The company said it is in the process of establishing a unit, to be based in Luxembourg, that will market and sell its products and services outside the United States.
American Century also hired Michael Green, a 20-year veteran of the global asset management industry, to the newly created position of senior vice president of international sales.
Before joining American Century, he was the chief executive officer of Morgan Stanley Investment Management Non-Americas.
Mr. Green will lead American Century's international distribution efforts from the London office. He will target financial intermediaries and institutional investors in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East.
American Century had $84 billion of assets under management as of June 30.
