Bank in Spain, Korean Exchange sign contracts with Unisys Corp.

Unisys Corp. has signed contracts with two financial organizations overseas.

A Spanish bank, Caja Vital Kuxta, has contracted with the Blue Bell, Pa.-based vendor for installation for a new retail banking system that will expand service offerings for the 120-branch bank.

The order, valued at $1.5 million, includes consulting services and the Unisys FBA Navigator retail delivery system, implemented on a Microsoft Corp. Windows NT advanced server.

The new system will allow the Spanish regional bank to introduce several new products and services including automated signature verification, document imaging, self-service terminals, and some office automation.

In related news, Unisys announced a contract valued at approximately $16 million with the Korea Stock Exchange.

Under terms of the contract, Unisys will upgrade the operation capacity of Korea's securities transactions system. The system connects 32 securities companies and more than 300 branches around the country to the Korea Stock Exchange.
