BMO Capital Markets, Bank of Montreal's Chicago investment and corporate banking arm, has hired a group of five municipal bond sales and trading professionals from LaSalle Financial Services.
The group will be based in Chicago and will sell municipal bonds to a range of U.S. institutional and corporate clients, the unit said last week.
Richard Bodkin was hired as a director and sales manager. He has 28 years of fixed-income experience, including three years with LaSalle and 13 years with Bank One Capital Markets.
The other four newcomers — Randall Laible, who has 17 years of municipal bond sales experience, including seven with LaSalle; Charles Montgomery, who has 14 years of municipal bond sales experience, including 10 at LaSalle; Edward Murphy, who has 20 years of municipal bond trading experience, including 10 at LaSalle; and John Zubak, who has 13 years of sales and trading experience, including eight at LaSalle — were hired as directors.
Bank of America Corp. bought LaSalle Bank Corp. from ABN Amro Holding NV in October.
