Bank of N.Y. Mellon Adds Asia Trade Exec

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. has announced the hiring of a former Bank of America Corp. executive to run its Asian payment and trade services business.

Richard Brown is based in Hong Kong as managing director and head of international payment and trade services for Asia, the company announced Thursday. He reports to David Cruikshank, Bank of New York Mellon's global manager of treasury services sales.

Mr. Brown is in charge of managing and building Bank of New York Mellon's delivery of payment and trade services, including trade outsourcing, clearing, and cross-border payments, to clients in Asia.

He was a senior Asia-Pacific business executive at Bank of America, where he managed global treasury services.

Mr. Brown has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, including senior posts at Citibank Canada and Citigroup Inc. in Hong Kong.

Bank of New York Mellon had $22.4 trillion of assets under custody and administration and $1.1 trillion of assets under management at Sept. 30. It services about $12 trillion of outstanding debt.
