BNY Mellon Names Alt-Investment CEO

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. has promoted Brian Ruane to the newly created position of chief executive of alternative investment services.

He will report to Art Certosimo, the senior executive vice president and head of broker-dealer/alternative investment services at Bank of New York Mellon. Ruane, who will continue to work from New York, has been with the company since 1993.

He was most recently an executive vice president and head of global client management North America. Before that he was head of financial institutions, overseeing Bank of New York Mellon's relationships with banks, broker-dealers and hedge funds.

In his new role Ruane will focus on expanding the company's alternative investment services relationships globally.

The promotion was announced Tuesday.
