Brown & Brown Inc. said Wednesday it had bought Turner & Associates Insurance Agency Inc. in Tecumseh, Okla.

The agency, which has annualized revenue of $1.7 million, specializes in selling insurance to the oil and gas industry. Its products insure oil and gas exploration and production and transmission industries.
Gary Turner, the agency's president, and his staff are to remain with the business, which will be a stand-alone unit of Daytona Beach, Fla.-based Brown & Brown. The parent sells a range of insurance and reinsurance products and services.
