Two California trade groups announced Monday that they have merged. The Independent Community Bankers of America said its California Independent Bankers merged with the Community Bankers of California to form a group named California Independent Bankers.
David Haithcock, executive director of the California Independent Bankers, said that more than half of the Community Bankers of California's members were part of the pre-merger California Independent Bankers, and that the current economic environment played a role in the decision to merge the groups.
